Overview

The goal of this project was to increase the flight time of a load-bearing drone. The work was done in collaboration with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). The project began as the Long-Flight-Time Buoyant Drone and was later shortened to Barone, a blend of “balloon” and “drone.”
